Upon arrival into Coolangatta airport we meet our Coach and make our way to the Tweed Valley Regional Art Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre. This gallery is surrounded by beautiful gardens and has stunning panoramic exhibitions and the permanent display of artworks celebrating the career, life and legacy of Margaret Olley, one of Australia’s most celebrated painters of still life and interiors. We continue our journey to the Gold Coast having free time to visit shops, beaches and purchase your own lunch.
After lunch, we set our sights high with a visit to the 77th & 78th floor of the iconic Q1 Skypoint Observation Deck in one of the world’s tallest residential towers. We ride the lift to the glassed in viewing area enjoying the panoramic scenery from the golden beaches to the hinterland and beyond! Afternoon Tea is included at Q1 Skypoint Observation Deck. We now make our way to Hope Island to our accommodation and check in.
Dinner tonight is at the Ramada Resort.
❱ Hotel stay: Ramada Hope Island Resort (2 nights)
After breakfast, we make our way to the Gold Coast Hinterland to discover the hidden secrets of Mount Tamborine. We visit the famous “Gallery Walk” boasting over 60 art, gift and nick-knack shops. From fine art to culinary delights, you will find something to suit all tastes and budgets in this fascinating stretch of fun shopping! Free time to wander & visit shops and to purchase your own morning tea. Lunch is included at St Bernards Hotel Mt Tamborine.
You will then travel to the Skywalk Mt Tamborine – an exciting new Eco-Adventure which offers a unique and thrilling way to explore the beautiful rainforest canopies. Set in a magical 30 acres of privately owned rainforest, you will be surrounded by flora & fauna displays and the crystal clear rock-pools of Cedar Creek on Mt Tamborine. The walk takes approximately 45 minutes at a leisurely pace. If time permits, you may wish to wander around sanctuary cover.
This evening, travel by coach to the New Australian Outback Spectacular and saddle up for a remarkable journey as one of
Australia’s most stirring true stories is reborn. The show commemorates the Centenary of the ANZACS and the heroes of the legendary Australian Light Horse.
Experience a deeper journey to the heart and soul of the High Country and be dazzled like never before by amazing animal stars, death defying stunts and stunning aerial performances. Hear the brave tales of May Wirth and Red Dog all accompanied by a stirring musical score composed especially for the show, as well as popular country music composed and written by country music legend, Lee Kernaghan.
The larrikin sense of humour and competitive spirit that Australians are famous for encompasses the show and guests are encouraged to get involved as the stockmen and women from rival stations test their mateship and go head to head in some true blue Aussie challenges.

After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Brisbane Airport for your 10.20am Air New Zealand flight to the beautiful Norfolk Island.
Arrive in Norfolk Island at about 1.40pm and be transferred to your hotel to begin enjoying a wonderful week away enjoying the unique Norfolk Island hospitality. Dinner nightly and a full hot breakfast every morning is included with your stay.
Tonight, we enjoy a wonderful cliff top fish feast with local entertainment and tasty Norfolk Island dishes including the local fresh fish. Looking back westward towards Australia, we see the sunset before returning to our hotel for a good night’s rest.

This morning, we enjoy a wonderful hot breakfast at the resort. Then, join a Discovery Tour for a chance to learn more about this wonderful island. Our guide will explain all of the Island’s History from Polynesian settlements many years ago to how life is today on Norfolk Island.
Tonight, enjoy a delicious 2 course dinner at the La Perouse Restaurant at the Paradise Hotel.
After breakfast, enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Norfolk Island as you please. Your guide will be happy to assist you with suggestions on what there is to do on the island during your free day.
This evening we meet in the cocktail bar for “managers cocktails’ complimentary for all in-house guests. After drinks
we enjoy dinner at the hotel with local entertainer “Lully” singing all the old time favourites.
This morning we enjoy something pretty special as we visit world renowned author Colleen McCullough’s home and garden. Her first of 24 novels “Tim” inspired a movie and actor Mel Gibson played the main role. Her second novel, The Thorn Birds has never been out of print and has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. It has been translated into more than 20 languages. The world renowned author made Norfolk Island home in 1979 and lived on Norfolk Island until her passing in 2015. Colleen created an amazing majestic home on Norfolk Island with her husband Ric Robinson. Ric and Colleen’s home was never open to the public until her passing. This is an exclusive guided tour to the author’s magnificent property. You will be escorted through Ric and Colleen’s home and view some of their priceless collections from around the world.
This afternoon is free for us to sample some of the local shops, indulge in some of the optional tours or just relax around the resort.
Tonight’s dinner is a Gourmet BBQ at your Hotel.
Enjoy a leisurely morning before joining the afternoon Convict Kingston Tour. Discover World Heritage Listed Kingston, hear about the first settlers, the Polynesians who arrived 900 years ago. Learn about the First & Second Convict Settlements and the facts & legends associated with each. Find out more about how Norfolk became home to descendants of the infamous ‘Bounty’ mutiny.
This afternoon is free for us to indulge in some of the optional tours or just relax around the resort.
Imagine dining with a Commandant! This factual yet fun dinner theatre is the newest interactive show to hit Norfolk Island. The Commandant’s Dinner is a “must” for our itinerary!! The cast of actors will take us on an entertaining journey back in time. We will be enthralled by the Commandant’s stories about the convict settlements on Norfolk Island and how the convicts were treated through punishment and reform. Listen to a chilling recall of one of the infamous rebellions. We will be enlightened about how the Commandant’s adapted to life in a Norfolk Island penal colony through their struggles and successes. The Commandants Dinner is a night of great entertainment, delicious food and loads of fun.
This morning, join the Norfolk Today Tour and find out more about life on the island. Where do fishermen launch their boats? How does bulk fuel come into Norfolk Island? How is power generated? What happens to waste? Where is the Meteorological Bureau? Where is the Norfolk radio station?
The Norfolk Today Tour will not only answer all these questions – your guide will take you to visit all of these places. Wind up at the Local RSL Club, a shrine to fallen local heroes, for a complimentary beer, wine or juice and take time to view the great collection of war time memorabilia.
Tonight, we enjoy a great Norfolk Island tradition – a progressive dinner to 3 Island homes for different courses. Marvel at the owners’ stories of their homes and the history of their families. It’s a fun night and a good way to meet the locals and sample some of the fine island dishes.
Enjoy a wonderful hot breakfast at the resort before having some time at leisure. Sadly, we will be leaving your island home today after a farewell morning tea. You will be transferred from your accommodation to a picturesque spot on Norfolk to say farewell before travelling to Norfolk Island Airport for your 3.30pm Air New Zealand flight to Sydney, with onward connections home.
