Your journey begins with a flight to Cairns in Tropical North Queensland. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Pacific International Hotel where you will be staying for the next 5 nights.
Tonight, enjoy a fabulous dinner in the hotels spectacular Bushfire restaurant with views over the esplanade. The menu includes prime Australian beef cooked over volcanic rock served with fresh garden salads or fresh local fish of the day. Dinner also includes desserts, tea and coffee.
❱ Hotel stay: Pacific International Hotel (5 nights)
You will be met at your hotel after breakfast this morning and transferred to the Kuranda Train. This train trip gives you one of the world’s most breathtaking train rides, travelling through hand hewn tunnels and across bridges whilst enjoying spectacular views along the way.
Stop at Barron Falls to watch the amazing waterfalls before arriving at the picturesque Kuranda Railway Station. Here, you will have time to explore the popular Heritage markets or visit the Butterfly Sanctuary or the Kuranda Koala Gardens.
Later, board the Skyrail on a journey into the world’s most beautiful rainforest as you guide over the canopy. A coach will be waiting for you on arrival at Caravonica Lakes to transfer you back to your hotel.
This morning, you will be picked up from our hotel and transferred to the wharf to board our cruise to Green Island. A choice of activities are available today, including a cruise in the special glass bottom boat which allows passengers to see the brilliantly coloured fish and coral without getting wet!
You are also able to join a semi submarine cruise allowing you an up-close experience to the marine life and Barrier Reef Coral. This tour also includes a magnificent buffet lunch served on the Big Cat cruise. Other activities on offer today include safe snorkelling or you can just laze on the island beach. Return to your hotel at about 5pm.
After breakfast, you will be treated to an escape into World Heritage Rainforest. The Daintree and Cape Tribulation National Park is one of the most significant in the world.
Cruise into the Daintree and enjoy a BBQ lunch in a beautiful rainforest setting. Take a stroll along the boardwalk and beach at Cape Tribulation, ‘Where the Rainforest Meets the Reef’. Afternoon refreshments are provided before being returned back to your hotel.
Join a half day tour to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure Park. Located just 40km north of Cairns, this is the best place to see crocodiles in Tropical North Queensland. Enjoy a unique eco experience on the lagoon cruise through the ecologically significant Melaleuca wetlands which are the domain of the saltwater crocodile. Explore the rest of the park with its abundance of wildlife, including water birds, turtles, wallabies and cassowaries.
Marvel at the notorious head shake and death roll of the crocodiles during the Crocodile Attack Show! There is also an opportunity to hold a crocodile for a photo (if you’re game!). Discover the world’s most venomous snakes at the snake show before returning to the Pacific International Hotel. The rest of this afternoon is at your leisure before enjoying for a farewell dinner in the Bushfire Restaurant.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Cairns Railway Station to board the Spirit of Queensland train. Relax onboard as the coastline unfolds while you travel south.
You’ll take advantage of the benefits of the revolutionary RailBed service which provides you with a comfortable seat by day which includes your personal entertainment systems and converts into flatbeds at nights. All bed linen, sheets, pillows and towels are provided and a personal amenities pack. A licensed Club Car provides light refreshments, confectionary and beverages and is open 24 hours. Breakfast is served as you continue your rail journey through Nambour before arriving in Brisbane. Make your way to your hotel in Brisbane’s city centre for your overnight stay.
Tonight, enjoy a wonderful dinner cruise on the magnificent Brisbane River. Indulge in a seasonal contemporary buffet as you take in Brisbane’s best sights including the beautiful Botanic Gardens, Kangaroo Point cliffs, Maritime Museum, Southbank precinct, the Story Bridge & much more. Enjoy top live entertainers performing all the classics & favourites, guaranteed to get you up on the dance floor and make it a truly memorable night.

This morning, you have time to explore Brisbane before making your way to Roma Street Station to begin our 1325km journey into the outback over the next 26 hours aboard the fabulous Spirit of the Outback train. Enjoy the luxury of on board dining with all main meals included.
The large panoramic windows will make your journey both comfortable and enjoyable. You will be captivated by the ever-changing landscapes on this fascinating journey. Enjoy a good night’s rest in your comfortable sleeper cabin.
❱ Rail journey: Spirit of the Outback Train – Sleeper Cabin (1 night)
This morning, wake to the changing outback landscapes from your window. This evening we arrive into Longreach and transfer to your accommodation. Stay the next five nights at the Kinnon and Co Lodges, Longreach.
❱ Hotel stay: Kinnon & Co Lodges, Longreach (5 nights)
After breakfast, be picked up from your accommodation for a town tour of Longreach then travel on to the Kinnon’s historic Nogo Station to experience a working cattle and sheep station. Hear about the pioneering lifestyle, see a champion sheep shearer at work and then be welcomed to the homestead for a wonderful smoko’ with an impressive spread of country baking.
Later, transfer to the Qantas Founders Museum and explore the museum with a guided tour of the 747 and 707 planes. Stroll back to your accommodation across the road.
Enjoy an exciting stagecoach ride at the only place in Australia where you can experience what it’s like to gallop in a Cobb and Co stagecoach. You’ll know you’re in the outback as you head off across the old Longreach to Windorah mail route.
Enjoy home baked scones and tea before taking in a vintage Aussie movie and the Harry Redford Old Time Tent Show – a totally unique mixture of heritage, legend, animal capers, improvisation and mayhem! Lunch is served in the courtyard before transferring back to your accommodation.
This afternoon, you’ll be picked up and taken to the banks of the Thomson River to board a historic paddle wheeler for a sunset cruise. The cruise is followed by a hearty stockman’s dinner around the campfire with bush poetry then the Starlight’s Spectacular Sound and Light Show featuring a special movie commissioned by the Kinnon’s to celebrate the legendary local hero Harry Redford.
Rise early for a full day in Winton. Visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs museum’s Collection Room and Laboratory. Take a heritage tour featuring the historic Corfield and Fitzmaurice Building, the Willie Mae Chinese Gardens and Arnos Wall.
Enjoy lunch at the historic North Gre gory Hotel, just a few paces from the spot where Waltzing Matilda was read in public for the first time. Then stroll down the Main Street and visit the Sunset Opal Factory to hear the story of Australian Opal before seeing the Musical Fence & Diamantina Heritage Truck Museum.
The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame is only a short walk from your accommodation and you’ll start the morning with a one hour Scotty’s Stories of the Past tour. Watch the Outback Stockman’s Show and be amazed by horsemanship and animal acts. Then there’s plenty of time to explore the five galleries of the museum marvelling at the achievements of the early settlers.
Enjoy lunch at the museum cafe (own expense). Wander back to your accommodation to refresh before transferring to Kinnon & Co’s beautifully renovated Welcome Home venue for an Outback Settlers’ Dinner.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before transferring to the railway station for the return journey on board the Spirit of the Outback.

This morning, breakfast is served on board before arriving into Brisbane at midday. Make your way to your hotel in Brisbane’s city centre for your overnight stay.

Say farewell to your fellow travellers when your holiday comes to an end this morning after breakfast. You will be transferred to Brisbane Airport in time for your flight home.
